Her other arm was propped up on the desk, her hand acting as a platform for her chin, her elbow resting next to the schoolwork she was doing. Well, that she was supposed to be doing. She had never been very good at focusing on assignments, especially when her creative juices were flowing. But as much as she wanted to do some creative writing, Annika had stubbornly held off. She was supposed to be meeting her younger sister here in e library. The two of them had always been the closest of the Holmström girls, and so when Olivia had started at Hogwarts the previous year, Annika had immediently done her best to be a good mentor and older sister. Part of her didn't want the responsibility of taking care of the "baby" of the family - after all, school was getting a lot busier now that she was in year six - but part of her felt guilty for not looking after Elsa better. Now, however, she wondered if she had been too overprotective of Olivia. One sister she had let have too much freedom, but maybe the other had too much of a lack of it. Oh well. It would be good practise for when she actually had kids. Anyway, this desk was the part of the library that the two regularly met. They didn't do it very often, especially not as frequently as last year, but it was nice to have some bonding time. Sometimes Olivia would ask for help on homework; at times, Annika would share a few stories about Sweden; other times the'd just chat about how things were going. Annika placed her pen on the table and instead began to tap on the desk with her fingers. Hopefully Olivia would turn up soon. It might help get her in the do-homework mood. [/style] |
