WELCOME BACK!
Spin the Stars has returned from what seems like an extremely long hiatus. With this return, we have changed quite a few things, thrown on a new skin, and brought along with us three new admins! I will be explaining all of the changes in this post, don't worry.
NEW SYSTEMS!
HOGWARTS AGE SHIFT |
The new admins and I have decided on an age shift for those attending Hogwarts. Students will no longer start attending Hogwarts at 11 years old, instead they will attend their first year at 15 years of age. When they turn 11, witches and wizards will attend a "Prep School" for four years, teaching them the basics of magic, leaving Hogwarts open for more specifics; like career training. Hogwarts will now instead train wizards and witches in their respective careers instead of just the generals of magic. Characters now have a ten class rooster, five they excel at, five they are not so good at!

NEW PROFILING SYSTEM |
We have given our profiling system just a bit of a twist! You will continue through the regular profiling phase as normal, up until you complete and post your profile. Then, a staff member will lock your application, and move it to it's appropriate place, along with posting your inventory post for you. Staff will track all rare items you find, and galleon shop purchases for you. Make sure to save a copy of your profile, because you will need to repost it in the correct section of Character Profiles. This will be your active profile (which you will set as your homepage in profile options, link the url of the active profile, and put PROFILE in the homepage name)! You may expand upon your active profile however you please, for example, add an extended history, pictures, any info you feel would be nice for others to see. You may add a relationship chart as a second post if you so wish. When that is complete, you should apply for any extra claims you may want. Clubs, Quidditch, prefects, all the extra stuff. After that, you are free to roleplay.
DEMONOLOGY & NECROMANCY |
The Demonology section has been heavily redone, completely overhauled, and the Necromancy system is brand new to this reincarnation of Spin the Stars! I do not need to explain the two systems here, as they are explained in the rules, and in the encyclopedia!
HEALING |
Healing has been expanded on in this version of StS! Seeing as how the series never explained how people became healers, wand makers, all of that good stuff, we took initiative. Healing is taught to students who choose to learn the difficult branch of magic by Hospital Wing Staff.
NEW PLOT |
The site's initial theme has also been completely overhauled. While Half-Breeds and Mud Bloods are still being oppressed, the main focus of the site has been shifted. Magic vs. Technology. Everything in the magical world is essentially 'set', with a great advancement rarely occurring, however, the muggle's technology is growing at an alarming rate, leaving the wizarding world in the dust. In a last ditch attempt to keep up, the Ministry revived many ancient forms of magic, hoping to keep the wizarding world afloat as a sea of technology swept over the planet. Three sides exist at the moment, where will you be?
OUR NEW STAFF!
LOONEY | So, long story short, I'm usually online even if I'm not on the online list here. Grab me on AIM or MSN (no, really feel free to add me, info's in the IM thread located in Chat) if I'm online there, and I'll hop on to assist to the best of my ability.
