PERSONALITY |
+ loyal Though cynical by nature, the few people that do end up gaining Icarus's trust are ones that he'd never betray. He holds his friends and the people he cares about in high esteem, and respects them in a way that he doesn't tend to respect others.

+ pays off debts If there is one thing Icarus cannot stand, it's being indebted to someone else. He almost obsessively will work to pay someone back if he ever gets a favor from them, merely because he doesn't like the idea of another person having something to hold over his head.

+ keeps promises For whatever odd reason, Icarus is a very 'honorable' person, at least when it comes to his word. Chances are, if he says he'll do something he'll most assuredly do it, unless it'll cause great harm to the few people he cares about.

+ courageous Or perhaps stupidly fearless would be a better word, but for the sake of throwing some positivity at this guy we'll call it courage. Icarus isn't often perturbed fear... that is to say, he's rarely ever intimidated. He's a "against the odds" sort of guy if you ever saw one.

+ loves children Despite the way he turns his nose up at the human race in general, Icarus has an undeniable soft spot for children. He's protective of them, and, (dear god) actually gentle towards them.

+ loves animals Since he does genuinely dislike people, Icarus has an intense love for nature and animals. He has a very nurturing opinion towards all creatures, be they magical or mundane, and is incredibly fascinated with them all.

+ thinks on his feet Icarus is a quick thinker, and works well in situations that bring a call for such a thing. Unfortunately with him that's usually fights but eh... at least he'd be good to have on your side in a rough situation?



- has terrible stage fright Despite the fact that he has a decent ability to actually sing, Icarus has crippling stage fright. In fact, he even has a tough time being the center of attention in class. He dislikes when other people are in a position to judge him, and tries to avoid it at all costs.

- terrified of snakes They do more than give him the heebie-jeebies. He's got a full-on ophidiophobia and even pictures of them make him uncomfortable (so he does avoid those Slytherins like they have the plague, if only because of their lovely little house symbol). It's literally something that inspires paralyzing terror in him, that or full-blown panic.

- likes to argue Icarus has an irritating love for pissing people off, if only to prove a point. He has this idea that if you work hard enough you can bring out the worst in any person that you meet. For whatever reason he's taken it upon himself to do that.

- cynical be it for a good reason or not, Icarus just does not trust people easily. He thinks the worst of people, automatically deciding that a person is going to stab him in the back if he turns around.

- violent - Icarus is a violent person. That's his answer for things. Someone pisses you off? Deck them. It's his end-all solution for almost anything under the sun.

- holds grudges You cross this guy, and he's never going to forget it. No. Seriously. He rarely ever forgives a person, and if you break his trust the chances of earning it back are nil. He just has an awful time forgiving people... or wrapping his head around the concept of forgiveness. He doesn't even believe in saying "sorry", though he might be broken of that if the right person toodles along.

- hates humanity Icarus is not a people person. By far. Crowds set him on edge, and he'd much rather spend his time alone in some corner than anywhere near anyone else. He's got a low tolerance for stupidity, and is quite convinced that the only true evil in the world is human-kind. Be they muggle or wizard or witch, he really honestly doesn't give a damn. He's certain that every single person has the potential to be cruel and unkind, and is even more certain that they'll give into that temptation.

ADDITIONAL INFO | His mother cheated on his father, but didn’t want to tell him about said cheating on. As such, she convinced him that Icarus was cursed, which would explain why he had black hair and such a strange eye color (his mother has blond hair as well as his “father”). The result was a large mistrust between father and son. His father often hit Icarus, and once wounded him badly enough that he had to be taken away. Icarus’s main goal in life is to basically become a powerful wizard and kill the man that never accepted him, as well as his mother that never protected him.
