ADDITIONAL INFO | Mikhail was born to a Russian pureblood family that were renowned for their blood-racism. Living in a more accepting part of Russia, they were at odds with the local wizarding community, and it all came to a head when Mikhail was ten. His parents began to fight with a local squib, attempting to murder the innocent man. His parents were subsequently lynched by the townsfolk, killed horribly as Mikhail could only watch. The crowd, unsatisfied, turned their anger on Mikhail, and it was only through the intervention of the squib that he made it out alive.
Mikhail was left with a horrible scar across his chest, which he keeps covered at all times. Despite having watched his parents be murdered, he's grown to hate them. Raised by the squib who saved him, he's since realized that his parents were, simply put, horrible people. The kindness showed to him by someone who his parents tried to kill have changed him, leaving him quiet and ashamed of his parents.
The other side effect of the event is that Mikhail is nearly a squib himself. Previously showing promising signs of magic, his magic barely existed by the time they moved to Britain. In any magical class, he's lucky to scrape by with a pass, struggling to do even basic magic. In every other class, he's almost always got the best grades due to the excessive amount of time he puts into studying to keep up with things.
