room of requirements
For years the Room of Requirements was off limits due to what happened during the war of Hogwarts against the Dark Lord himself. The school, headmaster and ministry did not anyone to seek the wrong room and release the smoulders of the past that contained the piece of Voldemort - now destroyed. They wanted to make sure the place was safe.
They brought in people to clear out the place. The room of hiding things was cleaned after the inferno. It was scrubbed and revived with a flick of a wand.
The rest of the most commonly used rooms were checked such as the bathroom, swimming pool and library for examples to make sure that no damage was done to any other rules.
Once the research had been finished no teacher allowed access. They never prevented it, but never encouraged it. The room of requirements was just a topic that was never discussed in the classroom between pupil and professor.
Pupils used it, but in silence. They did no spread rumours of use. Some students were afraid that it was still out of bounds and didn't want to be caught, given detention and deducted fifty points from their house. Others were afraid of what was inside even with the cleaning out of the room or requirements - they were afraid of the beasts within.
As of recently students have been spotted going into the Room of Requirements around nine o clock and not leaving until around two or three in the morning - locked with alcohol. Investigate and see if students are drinking. I heard that there was a drinking session going on this week in the room of requirements. Just tap three times on the wall and they will let you in!
